Cidomo Lombok

Cidomo is a traditional transportation means found in Lombok. It is a horse drawn carts and ever become so popular in its era as the main transportation. Although the existence of car and motorbikes has replaced it, we can still find and enjoy its service in the certain street in Lombok, especially in the route of Mandalika Market and Cakranegara Market, Kebon roek market, and in other area. I found that it is mostly used now for goods carting and by the old man. I think young generation is not really interested anymore.

Monument Giri menang Town Square Lombok

Monument of Giri Menang Town Square is well-known among local inhabitant of Lombok. In fact there are different names of the spot - Bundaran Kubah Emas, Bundaran Simpang Siur, Bundaran Mendagi, Bundaran Patung Sapi.  Each name refers to its pertained characteristic. For instance, it is named Bundaran Patung Sapi due to the existence of Cows statue.

The monument is located at Gerung, Western Lombok Regency. This monument is the reconstruction of the old one. The old part – cow statue - is kept standing around the monument. The new design resembles the mosque, small mosque with beautiful dome. Old monument then transformed to become as a new landmark of island of 1000 mosque.  

Refers to Its strategic position, the monument functions as a welcoming monument for visitor who comes to Lombok. The visitor must passes by the monument on its way to Mataram City, whether you get in to Lombok from Lombok International air port or from Lembar ferry Harbor. It is about 21 km from airport, 10 km from Ferry Harbor.
